UOU Syllabus 2026: Subject-Wise Course Structure

MCA Eligibility, Bridge Requirements, and Verification
To qualify for admission to the MCA programme, applicants must hold a BCA, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, PGDCA diploma, or DOEACC A-Level with graduation, securing at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates). Applicants with a B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A. who had Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level are also eligible with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
Candidates without Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level must complete an additional Senior Secondary Mathematics course offered on the SWAYAM portal (conducted by Dr. Rajendra Kumar Nayak, NIOS) alongside UOU bridge courses.
For the January 2026 session, online document verification for MCA applicants was scheduled via video meeting. Learners submitted self-attested copies of their 10th, 12th, and UG/PG marksheets, Aadhaar card, Caste certificate, ABC ID, and DEB ID.

Approved Distance Programme Credit Structure (July 2026 Onwards)
UGC-DEB approved distance education programmes starting from the July 2026 session follow a standardized credit breakdown. Theory and continuous evaluations follow a 70:30 term-end to formative assessment ratio.

Ph.D Coursework and Research Disciplines Structure
The Directorate of Research and Innovation administers the Ph.D. programme across 21 disciplines. The minimum programme duration is 36 months (3 years) and the maximum duration is 72 months (6 years).
Coursework includes research methodology, domain-specific orientation, computer application training, and research ethics. All doctoral theses undergo mandatory plagiarism screening through UGC-INFLIBNET software.

Distance MBA Entrance and Exam Guidelines
Admission to the Distance MBA programme requires online registration via the MBA Entrance registration form. Applicants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 1,000 online.
All term-end and entrance examinations conducted by Uttarakhand Open University take place strictly within examination centers located in Uttarakhand State.
